I think we have had enough damage now to cause some true panic selling - that's what we saw at the close today. If the casual investor who has ridden things out so far now pulls out, then the market can plunge down another 20%-30% without anything to stop it. I think we will see a technical rebound by the end of this week. Maybe starting as early as tomorrow but maybe not until after a difficult morning.

There are some real structural and institutional problems in the world's economy but none of them are worth throwing the baby out with the bath water - the "irrational exuberance" just needs to be wrung out of the market and some greater rationality and cooperation needs to be put into international monetary market mechanisms.

I predict bright times ahead - but probably not until after more rough going this September.
