Douglas,

Here in Kuala Lumpur I have a right hand Mercedes, Sedan E-280, 7 years old (is that classic enough?) but you don't want to know the price. You may not realize that cars in Asia are expensive, especially imported models like the Mercedes. Right hand drive is pretty much the norm all over Asia by the way. Considered that? To be sure prices have fallen but not like through the floor. Better to look for jewelry, boats, and other items. Prices on art, I hear has fallen. I recently splurged on oriental rugs as I felt there would never be a better opportunity. Have also bought some antiques. By the way, even more then Americans, the locals are absolutely charmed by their cars. It is, IMO, one of the last things they will let go.

Best,
Stitch
