Anacomp Announces New Technical Service Agreements; Sony and IBM Contract for Maintenance Support

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), a world leader in information management solutions, today announced it has signed separate third party maintenance agreements with Sony Electronics, Inc. and IBM Corporation.

Anacomp has entered into a sub-contractor agreement to assist Sony in servicing its JumboTron(R) large screen displays already installed in stadiums, arenas, and other venues across the country. Additionally, Sony's current plans call for using Anacomp to assist in servicing new JumboTron displays installed in the United States.

Sony is a leader in providing large screen displays to college and pro sports stadiums as well as in amusement parks and racetracks throughout the United States. Sony currently has approximately 90 such screens installed in the U.S. Anacomp also will provide maintenance support for Sony's DTF(TM) tape drives used in data recording.

In a separate transaction, Anacomp has entered into a sub-contractor agreement with IBM to provide maintenance and support for high-end optical jukeboxes previously maintained by IBM.

"The agreements with Sony and IBM, combined with growth in the high-speed laser printer business, demonstrate significant progress toward our goal of diversifying our product portfolio," commented Jeff Cramer, Anacomp senior vice president and general manager of its Technical Services Group, which is responsible for field services and support. "As we continue to grow our third party business, we expect to continually leverage our worldwide infrastructure and broadening base of expertise." Anacomp also has recently entered the high-speed laser printer service business and currently services printers at 65 locations in the United States.
