i am a options market maker in wcom on the floor of the pacific stock exchange. Today over 40,000 stock options traded, this is the busiest day i can ever recall, something is definetly going on. I would suggest the cheapest way to purchase wcom options is buy MFS options instead. Buying the MFS(MQF) jan 55 calls is the equivalent of buying 2.1 WCOM(LDQ) jan 26.19 strike, the cost for 10 MQF calls is about a dollar which = 21 LDQ jan 26.19 for less than a half each. The ldq jan 27.5 can be sold for 5/8, not a bad spread for a credit even! the share holders of wcom vote friday at 9am est to approve merger.
