They minimize broker and server resources. This allows accommodation of normal trading days with some grace, the grace that we are accustomed to. It allows their operating margins to be maximized. I suspect that some other brokerages are structuring their resources to deal more effectively with heavy-volume days..... sacrificing margins for service, trying to build a satisfied customer base. Brown and Co. has been better than Schwab for the past two days, on the occasions where I have accessed my account. I am too new to Brown, however, to objectively compare them with Schwab.
