Unless you are overseas or west coast, you stay up too late!! :o) Thank you for the song. Always songs are my favorite avenue to God. I am still learning the value of praise to Him.
Let me say something before I "comment" on your post. What we have been discussing, I want you to know that I believe we have been discussing as brothers. You believe that Jesus saved you by the blood and stand on that promise with faith. So do I . So I shall also believe God will purify our hearts and realize our intent on this subject is honorable and only to glorify Him. Fair enough?
Now, to your note on which you said I could comment . I think my last comment will be to highlight a couple verses out of the very verses you sent to me and make a couple comments.
First off I agree with you that Paul was sent to the Gentiles primarily. I also know everywhere he went he went to the synagogue first and "reasoned" with the Jews. I don't believe the gentile thing was an exclusive gig.
12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
The word revelation means an uncovering, a removal of the veil, a disclosure of what was previously unknown. Wouldn't you agree that Paul had a veil lifted off him? I mean where was he going when Jesus stopped him on that road? Acts 9:2 ((and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.)) men or women who belonged to the way?? wonder what that was? This disclosure to Paul ,what was prev. unknown to him,was the gospel. Also known as the WAY to these other people.
16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man,
Yes the revelation to Paul (his unveiling) was complete. Jesus had the disiples around him for the length of his ministry teaching them, and completed that teaching at Pentecost. But Paul did not have to be taught by the apostles because Jesus revealed the complete mystery to him by revelation so he could get on with his "commission".
22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only heard the report: "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy."
Here are a couple of very interesting verses. Is Paul actually quoting "Christians"? And did they say Paul was preaching the very thing he used to try to destroy, before his revelation? In other words he is preaching the very thing they know.
7 On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been to the Jews.
True, Paul was entrusted with preaching the gospel to Gentiles,JUST AS PETER HAD BEEN TO THE JEWS. Different gospels? I doubt it.Why would he even mention it if it was different?
11 When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong.
Not wrong in his "gospel" but wrong in his wanting to include his Jewish customs, with the grace of God.
Same revelation, same mystery.
Now I finish with a song.
As I come into Your presence, Past the gates of praise, Into Your sanctuary, til we're standing face to face; I look upon Your countenance, I see the fullness of Your grace, And I can only bow down and say...
You are awesome in this place Mighty God, You are awesome in this place Abba, Father; You are worthy of all praise, To you our lives we raise, You are awesome in this place Mighty God! You are awesome in this place Mighty God!!!
