A variety of reasons really.
1) I stumbled upon DGIV initially in January and got them at .39. Only bought 1000 shares though so it wasnt a big commitment.
2) After I realized this was somthing more than just a momentum play I started doing some research. I liked everything I read and believed that DGIV could well be a huge winner (a Gamble). DGIV headed north quickly with alot of developments and I bought as high as $7 or so.
3) Soon after the price began to erode I looked at my trading decisons and felt I acted emotionally and hastily when I bought at 7 and 6 becasue after such a huge run-up there would have to be a pull back.
4) Right around this time DGIV themselves became much more active in talking directly to their shareholders. Roger mentioned the imminent listing on Nasdaq back in May or June. That was the first step in thinking this was not just a long term play. Seemed like things were happening here and now. As we all know Roger jumped the gun a bit there. As recently as the 8/8 newsletter Jimmy seems quite optimistic that things are happening now and soon. Let me know if you didnt get that impression. I just reread it and that is what I come away with.
4) Until recently the chant on this thread has not been just for a long term hold. Go back a month or more and you will see alot of interest in imminent events. The long-term mantra only started as the price erosion really became unbearable. Frankly, if I had alot of money right now I would be fine with that. I dont and I'm not anymore.
5) I am still invested here because I expected things to have happened already. Every time I consider pulling the trigger two things occur to me: A) why sell at this level when what I sell aint really worth much anymore. B) If I sell now the news will be out tomorrow.
These two feelings have been fostered by the continued positive statements coming from the company. Financials were supposed to be out weeks ago. If there are delays we should be apprised of this. We have not been and consequently I continue to believe these will be out any day now.
6) I am in a position right now that is difficult. My current situation demands that I use my investment money to supplement my living expenses. The reasons are not important. DGIV and any stock is a gamble in these situations and my penchant is to assume risk. What bothers me is that I feel that I have been mislead to expect something sooner than what was actually the case.
enough for now.
