"Isn't QNTM a better buy here?"
I would like to think it is. Probably depends on whether SEG does better with their enterprise drives than QNTM does with DLT. Both have currently leading positions in their respective areas, but both have new competition coming on line. Will the Viking and the Atlas finally at least break even for QNTM on the high end? Have they taken enough write offs on their head division? Will SEG actually get LTO out the door, and will it be successful, or will it just make lower QNTM lower their DLT price and margins, leaving everyone in a losing position (as seems to be the companies in this sector's modus operandi lately)?

I can't say I really understand why all of these companies think that they have to be in every part of storage; they just beat up on each other instead of focusing on areas where they might dominate. Might make a smaller, but a more profitable company, if their area of focus is large enough.
