What do you make of the extraordinary large volume today? I expect us to retest the lows at a minimum and would not be surprised to see us break into new lows. However I was expecting our relief rally/dead cat bounce to be on low volume, not what we had today. Is this a churning of smart money leaving and selling to the usual buy the dip crowd or are the eternal bears correct in saying that we are now in a bear market where everything is reversed. In other words, instead of a high volume selloff signalling the exhaustion bottom, we are getting exhaustion buying signalling the last gasps of the bull. I wanted to initiate some put plays today but the volume really has me confused even though the A/D ratios, breadth etc still show this isn't over.

PS - Great thread

Lee
