Has there been any precedent that a merger proposed by boards but vetoed by shareholders? If both TLAB and CIEN boards didn't do their study, randomly propose the new ratio, and leave everything truly for the voters to decide, it's quite stupid. Just think about their credibility, public image and responsibility.

So I think the major shareholders (funds) were probably in agreement with this new deal. The postpone does show both parties are second-guessing each other now. TLAB wants to see if CIEN has more skeletons in the closet and CIEN wants to see if there are new buyers.
Look at what TLAB "did" to AFCI, absolutely no mercy.
