The stock traded 82,300 in just a few minutes at $7 7/8. The trades were done in three blocks(38,000,34,300,10,000, the trades were done between 11:12 and 11:19 EST). Bear Stearns was the buyer. The total volume on the day was only 176,000.
I found a great article today on the Phillips Business wire on MOT. The article was based on a report written by an analyst at Gerard Klauer& Mattison. His name is Charles A. Disanza. I believe the report was issued 8/17/98. Disanza suggests that the new MOT phones will be a big hit and they will regain market leadership from Nokia in the handset marketplace by the end of 1999. I have only read the Phillips story and I am trying to get the actual report. Has anyone else read it? Anyone interested in the Phillips story, send me a private message with a fax number and I will fax it out.
If others were to come to a similar conclusion, and Disanza was correct, that would be dynamite for the stock....
