OT OT Tim-
please share some of your savvy market advice to the thread .
Ok, since you asked... my savvy advice is to buy the best stocks you can find using whatever method you wish (the method doesn't really matter that much), then never, ever, sell them for a loss regardless of what the hypsters and hysterics may tell you to do.
if you were smart enough to listen to my warning LAST week when asnd was at 46, you know when i said the stock would tank. you could have sold at 46 and rebought at 33 and resold again at 38 .
Tim- I did much better than that, I bought lots of ASND when ASND was in the teens (split adjusted) then sold it at new highs all the way into the 70's. I then starting buying again around 45 (too early it seems!) on its way down, and have continued buying ASND and other beaten up techs until I ran out of cash about two weeks ago (again too early!). I hate to see ASND more than halved from its peak, but every dog will have its day. I have little doubt that we will see 60 again before 20, but if we don't I'm along for the ride. I've got 3000 shares of ASND in my portfolio and I'm not crying one tear over them. They will recover.
The bottom line is that you just don't get it, you really don't. You can warn us (or hype us; sometimes both hype and warn on the same day or week with the same stock)until FINALLY you get LUCKY with a decent call. Actually not luck, it is a CERTAINTY that you will make "good" calls. You make so many calls that you just can't be wrong all the time, any more than you can be right all the time. I doubt that you are hurting yourself because I very much doubt you have two nickels to rub together. But I do think you hurt others. Even so, if I have any point to make with you and others who alternatively hype and trash stocks hoping that they can profit by the reaction, I've made it. Thus, you can get the last word in if you want it. This is my last post to (or about) you. |
