AOL notwithstanding.......they are pure play internet....revenue leader......with 22 percent margins..... short some more mister..... Prissy, Please get your facts straight. In 1998 fiscal year, Amazon's margins will be a -14.2% according Merrill. That excludes the amortization of goodwill. Gross margins mean nothing if the costs to obtain them far exceed the margin mgained on the sale. This is call General Accepted Accounting Principles. Glenn
