Found the following:

During the first nine months of fiscal 1998, the Company completed the $1 billion common stock repurchase program announced in December 1996 and the $500 million program announced in September 1997. In February 1998, the Company's Board of Directors approved an additional $500 million common stock repurchase program. During the third quarter and first nine months of 1998, the Company repurchased 5.2 million and 16.2 million shares of its common stock, respectively, for $283 billion and $877 million, respectively.
