Anwar fired. Krugman agrees with Mahatir.

In fact, according the SCMP Krugman thinks that the HKMA are justified in intervening in the stock market to support the peg.

PRESS STATEMENT FROM PRIME MINISTER'S DEPARTMENT
This is to inform that Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim has been sacked from his posts as Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, as well as other positions held by Dato' Seri Anwar in relation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister posts.
The removal took effect today, 2 September 1998, from 5.30 p.m.
The King has been informed of the removal.
