In the past, the electorate supported Yeltsin. With the present turmoil and a lot of pain ahead, the situation becomes unclear if Yeltsin will be so highly regarded now. When people don't eat and wages are frozen, desperation sets in. The problems are only beginning and will get much worse as the weeks and months pass.
