I agree that the Russian situation will not cause a dent on the balance sheet of the German banks. The problem with Russia is, how much more money will it take before the country is stabilized. It's a money pit that the West will have to contend with for a long time.

Asia can and will eventually export their way out of their respective troubles. The question is, how long will it take the Tigers to regain their footing. Russia has no manufactured goods or technology that they can export and rely on commodities for their trade balance. When commodity prices fall, as they are doing now, this only makes the Russian situation more untenable.

Looks like Armageddon may take place in Russia sooner than later.
