Picked up what will probably be the last few laser discs I buy
yesterday.

Pete Townsend Live - great song selection, 150 minutes
includes Psycho Derelict material which I dug but was
a commercial and critical flop. Now and Then is an
awesome tune As is English Boy. Also John "Rabbit" Bundrick
on keyboards from the Who and Simon Phillips on drums

Eric Clapton Live in Hyde Park- also great song selection,
Steve Gadd on drums. Andy Fairweather Low is on this disc and
the Townsend disc. He sure gets around.

Close to You Remembering the Carpenters
CNBC has been advertising a Carpenters compilation and all
the little clips sound so good to me. Also I got the disc
cheap as a closeout. Cointains a few interesting covers
including Dancing in the Streets and Ticket to Ride.
I probably would have rented it but it wasn't available
as a rental. Also, a CD would not have done it. Karen
Carpenter drives me crazy.

If I were a carpenter and you were a lady
Would you marry me anyway, would you have my baby?
If a tinker were my trade, would you still love me?
Carrying the pots I made, following behind me

Save my love through loneliness
Save my love for sorrow
I've given you my onliness
Come and give me your tomorrows

If I worked my hands in wood, would you still love me
Answer me, babe, yes, I would, I'd put you above me
If I were a miller at a mill wheel grinding
Would you miss your colored box, your soft shoes shining?

Harry Belafonte and Bobby Darrin both recorded this tune.
