Hi SG:

Used to follow GRE in '96 as it ran from 5 up to 20, but lost interest as it slumped back to 5 in late '97. I'll put it back on my ticker and see what happens.

As for PHV... OY! What a saga! Watched that one in late '97 from 21 to 27 but lost interest after the SafteyKleen deal went wonky. Just went through the last year's news headlines. Sure seems like someone is fighting for control of what's left. Probably for a jump and dump a la Mr. Gecko (Mike Douglas' Wall Street Movie)! Although, the guy only holds about 15% - not enough to really make a dent.It looks like a deal to sell one of their electrical instrumentation companies fell through. That could cause another drop or it could signal the takeover buys to act. Yet, today, they are up to 1.78. You seem to have been following it for a while. I have not. I would put an alert on 1.50 and 2.00 for now and keep an eye on it. IMHO.

Take a look at THW on the ASE. They just bought out what seems to be a good software developer in Silicon Valley (see the NR on Stockwatch). They have not been slaughtered over the last few weeks and might be poised for a run.

Also, take a peek at UIS on ASE as well. I am very familiar with this one (a family friend is a director and exec member). They secured $7M financing last year and are in the process of completing construction on a Silica Sand extraction plant in the Peace River, AB area that should be on line this fall. They had a few delays getting going which caused people to lose interest this summer, partly due to road closures because of spring and summer forest fires in the area. I have been in and out of this one several times as it ran from .40 to 1.20 and back to .40. With the plant nearly finished and a processing plant proposed for the Edmonton area (in my town, no less) this one will see a good upswing this fall. .40 is a STEAL right now. The only negative is that part of their market relates to the use of silica sand in "fracing" oil wells. With the current price of oil, it is not as favorable for some oil service and supply co's right now. Good opportunity nevertheless IMHO as well.
