*** Fla. boy, 6, charged with sex crime
EUSTIS, Fla. (Reuters) - A 6-year-old Florida boy has been charged
with a felony sex crime for allegedly fondling a 10-year-old girl on
a school bus, police and school officials said Tuesday. The child,
who was not identified because of his age, was charged with lewd and
lascivious assault on a child under 16, a felony, and simple battery,
a misdemeanor. The girl's mother said the case involved fondling and
an attempt to bite the girl's breasts, but acknowledged older boys
egged on the boy during the incident last Wednesday. She said filing
criminal charges was the only way to ensure the boy would get
counseling because the school, Eustis Heights Elementary, was slow to
act after the incident. See
