The news is out - all over town.
The funds I referred to are hedge not mutual funds. And a couple of smart ones are down big time, bad time.
Note - with many of these shops, there is a high water mark provision on the performance fee - e.g. - they don't get their 20% until they make new highs. This will lead to those that are deep in the hole to close their doors and start new funds rather than working for free (well - not free, but 100 bps - like me) for years.
