First, Richard started this dumb semantics game not me.

Second, I just don't care if Jmar has developed a single product or not. I know you are referring to Jmar the original company. But, Jmar is not the original company it was two years ago or seven years ago. I don't care if Jmar bought all of their technology, in the for of PPL or CATS or whatever. The fact of the matter is that they(JMAR, the collective company) have technology, its very good, it works and major companies want it.

Third, Jmar scientists have worked on other product in the different divisions of Jmar. Therefore they have help create products for the company as a whole. Whether or not we like it lightknife was a Jmar product that was completed and paid for. All because B&D does not find it cost effect is not Jmar problem, but they did create it.

Fourth, Brightlight does work and was invented by Jmar R&D.

Fifth, We all know how Government R&D contracts WERE. However, I don't know if you have tried to get one recently. The Government is considerably more strict about authorizing money for R&D.

Brent

P.S. (My Art Veld moment) Just for fun I am going to suggest something. Maybe Jmar has he XRL working right now, and maybe the Government told Mr.M to be quiet about it. Maybe the government want to get chips from the machine before anyone else does. It would make sense that the government would want to have the technological led for say two or three years. The DARPA contract could be a way for Jmar to get the machine working to production standards while the government takes all of the chips that Jmar makes getting the machine ready.

If XRL does turn out to be as good as some of us believe it will be than maybe the government just wants to keep it under raps a little longer.
