Actually Jim, you can get decent battery life with the big screens. Last notebook test I saw showed that the IBM Thinkpad 770ED (14.1" screen, 266 PII, DVD) ran for 3 hours 52 minutes on battery power. From what I can tell, IBM generally is up among the leaders in battery life, but even watching a movie, most of the quality machines will last more than one hour. Regards, John
