Mike, I've been trying to follow your hedging strategies and they make sense to a point. However, if indeed are in a major bear (and tomorrow could very well be the next downleg) why not keep it simple and short and put? Buying that many shares of HD and WMT seems pretty risky here.

DELL. Evil, evil, evil. My November puts closed about where I sold 'em. Mike, I ended up doing the long term leaps here also since I can't trust myself not to freak out with the short term volatility of this stock...even though I agree with LT that it is going down.

How 'bout this. I bought and sold CCI puts on the 27th. I was confirmed on the computer and later with a mail notice on the price I bought and sold. Yesterday I get a cancellation notice of both the purchase and sale and a new confirmation with an 1/8 point higher on the purchase and an 1/8th point lower on the sale. Called and my broker said the floor told them they made a mistake and actually did the transactions at the new prices. Hmmm....

Anyway I asked my broker if he could help out here and he refunded one of the two commissions. Better than nothing. Has this happened to anyone else before?

SI administration has been very helpful in this Slider thing. They responded to me on the matter with a private email the very next day.
