Don...try apples to apples, i.e. are you saying that buying gold for $35 in 1970 and selling for $800 in 1979 was a "bad" investment? Let's see where DELL is in 10 years from today relative to gold. It may surprise you that many DOW components from 1929 don't even exist today whereas gold is still here.

ps. I agree that buying DELL 2 years ago and holding till today was a better investment than doing the same with gold. However, don't assume that trend will continue.
