I think that "testing," as used by Bob, means revisitation of the lows to see if enough buying appears appears to prevent the market from falling lower. If more selling than buying occurs at the lows, the support level will fail the "test" and move lower.

This is what happened at 8400 to 8650; the market tested the benchmark lows, but the test failed. Perhaps the market will fail this test of 7400 to 7800 too.
