Ref: IBD's comment on the market.

Oh Hi Dennis:

Thanks for the info from IBD.

We haven't had one in 8 years.......this is the longest stretch EVER.

My comment in a nutshell is-so what????

I don't know of any rules that says one must have a bear market every X number of years. There will be a bear market if conditions warrant if not NO.The argument that we should have a bear market because we didn't have one in 3 yrs,5 yrs,8 yrs or 10 yrs is simply besides the point. Also bear in mind we have had many corrections in the market, mini and maxi, including the recent one to correct for any perceived or real anomalies in the market and don't forget many stocks have been hit hard knocking off 20-20-50-60% of their values. For a bear market to happen economic conditions must exist to justify it, if they don't it doesn't matter what the 'experts' say, they may succeed in spooking the investor into selling there by creating an artificial sell off but that won't be a bear market would it? The reasoning behind we must have one 'cos we didn't have one in X number of years just doesn't hold any water, does it?? What do you think???
