But Greenspan is on record as having warned the market several times.

It takes an economist like Galbraith to appreciate the irresponsible neglect of not ACTING sooner. About a year ago even columnist Alan Abelson was calling for the Fed to raise margin interest requirements.

I think the Fed will get blamed, but after some of the present memebers are retired.

Not that they get paid that much to take all the heat anyway. Greenspan's salary is probably not much more than a tenth of what Abby Cohen gets. Up till now.
