A friend who is a smart programmer but does not pay attention to markets said: "I don't worry about the stock market because I don't have any individual stocks. I just have my retirement money in some mutual funds." I saw the wheels start turning when I said "but they own stocks, so when the market is down so are they and your retirement". <sigh>
