A new opinion poll suggested he and Yeltsin had no more support among ordinary people than in the Duma. It showed only 26% of respondents wanted Yeltsin to remain president, nearly half wanted his powers curbed and 67% blamed him for Russia's problems. 34% blamed Chernomyrdin's previous government, sacked in March.
