Denice,
This could be a long slow bottom dragging process with further
price drops and small rally's for many months to come. The semi's
are probably close to the bottom but may languish there for the
next year or more. AMAT has exhibited some bouyancy but is
taking on more water and IMHO is not at the bottom yet. It could
sink slowly from here unless the institutions unload their positions
which is keeping the AMAT ship afloat. Daily volume is the key
and could be dramatically influenced by any major market moves
to the downside on more bad news concerning Yeltsin/Russia,
Chinese Yuan, or some big banks going bust in Japan.
If the stock drops to < $23 then the likelihood of going to less than
$20 is greater than 75%, IMO.
