Hi Gregor,
<< In the OT, God had his chosen few, his chosen race; however if you were not of his chosen few or chosen race you were out of luck>>

His chosen was to bring salvation from them for the rest of the world. For God so loved the world, that was always His heart and plan. Actually there were always many of the aliens in the Temple and even a book in the OT writen for a non Jew, Ruth. The Gentiles just had to go through His chosen plan and not do things their own way(that is the same now). Salvation is of the Jews, their Messiah Jesus.

<<If King Uzziah was stricken with leprosy how much more so would you or I be stricken, we not being of a royal linage or we not being a king.>>
Without the blood sacrifice of Jesus we would be stricken just as bad. The problem was a matter of atonement and not lineage.
There was always a blood atonement provided by God that was acceptable for all who would come in humility. Like you said the problem was in coming with a contrite and humble heart IMO.
For He did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that it might be saved through Him. That was His plan from Genesis chapter three that He would Himself come thyrough a plan (the Jews) to save His creation. What a gracious and loving Father we have.
In Yeshua,
Nancy
