Darrell and All-
I think Clinton will hang-on until it is clear to him that his best choice is resignation. (Remember, Clinton is motivated primarily by his own personal interests, and he craves power.)

I heard that if Congress convicts Clinton and he's impeached, he would lose all the benefits of ex-presidents while if he resigns, he still gets them (as Nixon did). Do any of you know for sure?
