CyBerTrader versus MB Trading: Account and Risk Management

At the heart of trading is the ability to manage risk.

This week has been an emphatic reminded to all of us of this.

Our philosophy in designing the CyBerTrader technology and the CyBerBroker business has been to provide the most advanced technology with the ability to manage risk - both in real time and within your account.

Within CyBerTrader the risk management systems the trader sees in real time the

ú Number of tickets executed
ú Number of Open Positions
ú Open P&L market to market in real time
ú Closed P&L
ú Trading Capital used in real time
ú Open Orders Market to market in real time
ú Real time messages from the exchanges and counterparties
ú Real time Position Manger providing real time color coded alerts based on the open positions and what each market maker is doing in terms of their bid/ask activity and the effect of such moves on the open position

This is just a sample of the real time risk and account and position management tools

Risk management also relates to the back office and reports that are available to CyBerBroker customers daily, by way of e mail, and by way of the Internet/WEB access to their account so that each customer always knows exactly where there account stands, 24 hours a day

CyBerBroker sent an e mail to their customers yesterday regarding our back office accounting and specifically the ability for our customers to dial in via the Internet 24 hours a day to check out in tremendous detail the status of all aspects of their account

Letter from CyBerBroker:

"This message is being sent to announce the creation of a new CyBerBroker/Penson web site. This web site has been designed in order to provide CyBerBroker customers with the ability to maintain accurate account information. The new web site will contain such information as cash history and trade history as well as current account balances. It will also take the place of the Hedge Reports and Daily Summary Reports that have been e-mailed to active customers on a daily basis. Please note that this is a new web site and may be subject to brief and periodic site construction. The web site can be found at clients.penson.com . We welcome any comments or suggestions from all of our customers that may help us to improve our service to you."

Coincidentally, MB Trading at the same time sent a letter on a similar topic to their customers

Letter from MB Trading:

"We will provide you a full explanation of the failure at Southwest to deliver account data in a timely fashion. Our reason for this e-mail is to inform you that SW has still yet to provide us with the web reports or Thursdays account data. We have hand created the necessary file for trading on Thursday. This file may be off by a dollar or two. It will NOT reflect profit from any trades yesterday nor will it contain losses. Please use responsible management as to not exceed what would be an adjusted beginning equity, in the event you suffered any losses yesterday. We will announce the availability of the reports on the website as soon as SW makes them available to us. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter as well as your anticipated cooperation in the near future as we make arrangements for a new clearing firm."

People should know that they have a choice

I say let the people decide
