You're correct. I did actually want to mention the effect on DELL but forgot to. As DELL uses exclusively INTC products (CPU and Chipset) this is a potential problem for them unless they pay for licensing the technology. I can see the three companies wanting it to become a standard but then they lose their competitive advantage. IBM failed in their proprietary microchannel bus technology in the 80's so it would help if this standard proliferated as widely as possible. Maybe the three of them will be enough for it to become the de facto standard and others like DELL will have to pay.
