Zeuspaul,
Sorry for taking so long to provide an answer for you. I was hoping for a resolution and was also busy at work. I no longer trust their internet trading site. On August 5, I placed a buy order. Instead of the usual confirmation number a message came back which basically said that my order was in and that I should not re-enter it. It is interesting to note that the message did not say that the website was down. I thought that they were updating something and did not feel concerned because of the assurance contained in their message. Initially the stock moved several ticks below my market order and then began a sustained upward move. When I checked for this stock in my portfolio I did not find it. Scottstrade could not find any trace of my order. I wonder if the upward move of the stock had anything to do with it. Their web trading site requires re-log in after about 10 minutes of inactivity. Therefore it is relatively inconvenient to keep getting into one's account and checking for transactions.
