Rumour has it that Intel is "eyeing" 3Com and that the purchase price may come in at $35/share. Anybody else heard the same ? 3Com products are gaining a foothold especially in the following areas: 1. Palmtop computers - almost every salesperson I see is carrying one of these devices; 2. 3Com network interface cards just became a standard in this one fortune 500 company. We are buying by the truckload; 3. 3Com hubs and switches are very popular among small to medium size business's. I know of one very large reseller installing them at all their client sites.
