I'm not sure exactly how the licencing deal between INTC and AMD works. But no matter how, or how much, they are gettting paid, they would still do MUCH better (over the long(er)-term) is AMD was out of business. I tried to ask those questions yesterday at the INTC conference, but I didn't get a straight answer.

MSFT: I own the stock, and unless something unforseen happens, I will own it for a very long time. People go out and buy stock in CPQ, DELL, GATE, etc., who are always fighting each other in prices, for a gain in market share. What no one realizes, is that (almost) every last one of those computers has MSFT software, and INTC chips. I don't want MSFT--or any other stock--to split. I believe that splits slow the momentum of the stock, because there are too many shares outstanding to allow for much movement.

Options...be careful. I started playing options this March. In two weeks, I made over $50,000. I two more weeks, I lost that $50,000, and then some. The problem is, that I had profits in every option I bought, but I got GREEDY. Go to the "Option Horror Stories" under the MISC threads to learn more.
