>>Did I say I was going to buy COMS because of cable?<<

I don't know. btw...same case applies for xDSL.

>> I have 33.6k and no reason to get faster,..<<

Then you must not really be into the internet. Going from
even just 33.6K to 56K is a noticeable difference....

>> the bottleneck is more often the lousy server service.<<

The majority of ISPs have just about made the switch to 56K
service. Shouldn't be a problem there. If service is slow because
the web site has low capacity (not enough servers, etc..),
then it will be slow no matter what kind of connection you
have.

>>The Palm Pilot isn't even a drop in the bucket either despite its publicity generation<<

That may have been true at one point, but you'd be surprised at
how's that is changing. I didn't buy COMS for
the Palm Pilot, but it's going to be a hell of an extra I hadn't
counted on.

>>and it better be followed up by more nifty gadgets. They are now
speaking of 0.20 being a good Q and 3com turning around,<<

that's the analyst/company game they play for these turnaround
storys. Lowball it to death, make sure the company can meet
low numbers, then slowly jack up the price and get 100% return
in a year.

>>That's not going to happen anytime soon but it may dip to $17<<

The would be a 'weak market' problem, not a company problem.
