Ram,

I looked at the cadi system info on the home page you listed. It looks good on the surface. Anything that can help reduce paperwork in this new day and age of managed care hell would be refreshing. The only problem I have with it is that it appears to collect the data from a "multiple choice and yes/no format". That is fine as long as it allows for the flexibility of other variables that could arise in clinical practice. For example when a patient is evaluated daily by a physician or therapist, they usually collect what we call SOAP notes on the individual which stands for Subjective (how they are feeling) Objective (the findings of the physician or therapist as they relate to the condition being treated, Assessment (what is the diagnosis for that visit, has it changed?) and the Plan (what treatment is going to be performed or prescribed today, also what future treatment or tests might be indicated).

With the gathering of the above information you can probably guess that based on whatever condition the patient has, the above information can be quite variable. So my point is this,If the cadi system allows the physician or therapist to go out of the parameters set up in this "yes/no or multiple choice type format" (this might not happen often but could very well be necessary) then it sounds like a great device and probably would be very usefull in any discipline whether they be physical therapist, home health aid or whatever. It seems to say that it allows for this flexibility but was not too clear on it. If it does not allow this then I would hope that it is one hell of a complete database. I would have to see it to know this. Also it will take some getting used to for care providers to get used to the format involved here (some people might work in a completely different order than this thing is set up in) But this is a minor point, a person can get used to anything if its effective.

As far as billing and progress reporting goes I think this thing sounds great. Unfortunately patient care has turned into 80 percent paperwork and 20 percent patient care for all care providers. With this in mind I think this device should be quite a success.

I hope this answered some of your questions.

Dave
