Zeev...It will be interesting to hear Searle's reply. One thought might be this:

The "average" cost to produce gold is estimated in many circles as near $275 per oz. AU hit $270.50 last week, or about $5 below 0(cost for "new" gold to come into useful existance). At $the upper 280s today, it has made a move of ? %. I suppose that a case could be made that gold has actually outperformed the drop in the $.
