With all due respect, nobody with a brain thought the fed was anywhere close to hiking rates recently. The bias toward tightening simply comes as a result of past meetings carried forward without regard to the market. Sort of like the Elves on Wall Street Week. The Fed may indeed lower rates in 99, but there is no chance that they go from a bias to tighten to an out and out ease any time this year. Either way, it is too late too affect the market one way or the other at this time. There are too many forces at work now that trump the fed now.
