Nice post, Bob. SLGonzalez was interested in how BPI works on protazoa. Did not know what toxoplasma gondii was until I looked it up. So seems like XOMA is going to explain how it can help at Icaac.

Toxoplasma Gondii

For years, toxoplasmosis has been known as a disease that mostly affected newborns.
Immunocompromised patients such as those suffering from AIDS are at high risk of
reactivating chronic toxoplasmosis and have recently garnered this parasitic disease a
great deal of interest. Since in vivo and in vitro models of toxoplasmosis exist and
genetic manipulation has become possible, this protozoan parasite has recently been
accepted as a model for understanding the patho-genesis and persistence of other
intracellular parasites. In addition to presenting clinical and therapeutic concepts, this
volume reviews current knowledge of the genetics and immunology of T. gondii and
its interaction with its host organism as well as exploring the direction of future
research.
