To all - in case the terminology is not clear, what the following : Record date is 9/11 and ex.div. is 9/24. means is ... if you buy QCOM up to any point through 3:59:59 P.M. on Wednesday 9/23/98, then you will catch the spin-off. (This ignores doing a "cash" trade, as opposed to a normal 3 business day settlement trade). (Just pretend I did not mention cash trades). Jon.
