RE: Entry causing a price drop
I've noticed that I cause the same effect. Now when I want to establish a position I buy 100 shares at the market -- watch the price drop, buy a few thousand shares at the lower price, and save a hell of lot of money. I haven't done this with Intel since my problem in July 97, which I think started the mess of the last year. Next time you plan to establish a new position, be a pal and drop a note to this thread! I don't know what this phenomenon is in market-speak, but in epistemology, it is known as "solipsism." If one actually made money consistently using this method, it would prove (to my satisfaction, at least), that the universe (or market) is purely subjective. Not very likely, but worth a try. Nothing else seems to work. The philosophical foundations of buy-and-hold Intel are still murky to me, even though Archimandrite Carl has full explicated the religious underpinnings, and Dr. Paul has explained the scientific groundwork. |
