The problem is that politicians, ESPECIALLY at the federal level-- 99%, are not out for us-- they are in the pursuit of POWER and money. POWER is evil in it's essence.

Answer-- term limits. Max of 2 terms then a 2 term hiatus from that particular office.

No soft money.

State politicians are 70% corrupt.

Local is more like 10%.

THE MAIN PROBLEM-- NO ONE READS THE CONSTITUTION!!
