Ramsey,

" I have long opined that Asia and especially Japan needs to ignore western pressures. It also sets an example to show the world how democracy is totally ineffective during times of crisis."

You definitely have and I couldn't agree more. The West taught the world how to succeed, but not how to avoid failure. How could they when they are repeatedly making the same mistakes themselves? The history of the Western economies is cyclical with the depth of recession proportionate to the elevation of the success.

It is hard to imagine what the next few months will bring. A major downturn in US/Euro spending will be devastating on the emerging markets. Most have become dependent on exports and no longer have economies with any self sufficiency. Forgot to tell them about that part.

I just heard Clinton on the radio saying that the US economy is strong and there's nothing to worry about. Huh? They always said it would make you go blind. I thought they meant eyesight.

JMHO,
Ron
