Yep, that's what typically happens. First Union's acquisitions in years past I think provide a perfect example. Pound of flesh extracted, then the merger goes on.
This company post-merger is going to be one to watch. Two years out IMO the efficiencies will be hitting the bottom line and we will see
very healthy appreciation. But the stock is down to $29, am I missing something?!
