Bob - It turns out that VC 6 requires SP3, which you have, and IE 4.0. We're going to send out a VC5 version of the update that doesn't require IE 4.0, but I think that you will have to install IE 4.0 to get NT working right again. We ran the 8-25 update on NT here, but we had IE 4.0 installed, so there were no problems. We set up a test NT without IE4, and it killed it. Gary BTW - I was sure that the qp2 dll's were in the list that I sent, that's all the installation program checks for.
