Michael, first of all, global warming studies need to be based on good science, not just opinion polls of scientists. I tried to read the article you cited refuting the NASA scientist, but it will not open. Can you reprint it here so I can actually see it? I am not surprised that right wingers would try to refute everything factual about global warming, because it is in their interest to do so. I would have to read the article to see what their points were, however.
I did a pretty thorough web search and could not find American View, that market research firm. It sounds like another right-wing front, however. Do you have a url for it, so I can see what it is really about? After I know what your sources are, I am pretty sure I will be able to refute the arguments. Nature is a very well respected scientific journal, and there is more and more statistical data supporting global warming published every day. What I find particularly fascinating is why this has become so politicized, with the right wing absolutely uninterested in finding out what is going on, because their interests are simply to maximize profits and rape the earth as long as they can get away with it. I am confident that when the body of evidence is irrefutable, they will still try to deny and obfuscate, because they are ideologues, who care nothing at all about the future of our children and grandchildren. You, however, are a parent, and should really at least start thinking about the implications of all this for your gene pool, in my humble opinion.
And I am much more concerned with ALL the damage being done to the planet, not just global warming, but regarding pollution and environmental degradation of all kinds. Here is something I read this morning which is very alarming:
